Psychological Testing and Mental Health Evaluations

Kansas City Psychotherapy and Dr. Jeff Peterson, PhD partner with clinical psychologist Dr. Stella Fernandez, PsyD, to provide psychological testing and mental health evaluations for our clients. We recommend that you first set-up a counseling visit and consult with your therapist to determine which assessments may or may not be appropriate. Services include psychological evaluations to determine overall mental health status and diagnoses, immigration or adoption evaluations, testing to confirm a diagnosis such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Bipolar Disorder, or OCD. Mental Health testing can also include psychological evaluations for substance abuse treatment, treatment recommendations, or assessments required prior to bariatric surgery.

We have chosen Dr. Fernandez because of her years of testing expertise, outstanding professional reputation, and affordable pricing for mental health evaluations. Dr. Peterson and other clinicians at Kansas City Psychotherapy can use the results of these evaluations (with your consent) to help you determine the most appropriate course of treatment, such as whether you should be assessed for the use of medication or other forms of psychological treatment such as inpatient hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), residential rehabilitation treatment, or medical procedures such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), or Ketamine Therapy.

You are responsible for the costs of your evaluations, but as mentioned above, she has very reasonable rates and can provide you a super-bill to submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Below is her contact information and rates. Again, we recommend that you first set-up a counseling visit and consult with your therapist to determine which assessments may or may not be appropriate.
